The Penang Bridge and several roads leading to it will be closed to traffic for eight hours between 2am and 10am on Sunday for the Penang Bridge Marathon 2007.

Penang traffic enforcement officer Chief Inspector Abdul Ghani Mohd Ali said the roads would include the Sungai Nibong Expressway, Jalan Tengku Kudin and Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
“Motorists from Bayan Lepas going to Georgetown and vice versa are advised to use Jalan Yeap Chor Ee,” he told reporters here today.

He said participants and members of the public were advised to leave their vehicles at special parking spaces provided at Jalan Akuarium, the Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics (Recsam), in front of the North Region Marine Police base in Batu Uban, areas at Kampung Ku, Lebuh Tengku Kudin Dua, Lebuh Tengku Kudin Tiga and Jalan Taman Tun Sardon.

Abdul Ghani also urged the public to plan their trip in advance and to follow police instructions to ensure smooth traffic flow on that day.
